Born in Gainesville and raised in nearby Ocala, Dr. Griffin attained his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, just as his parents and grandparents had done. The son of a pharmacist, he and his five brothers have followed in their father’s footsteps, making careers in medicine and pharmacy.

Dr. Griffin received his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine, Netherlands-Antilles, and served as chief resident during his medical training with the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Florida, Jacksonville & Shands Hospital, Jacksonville.

After completing medical training and residency, Dr. Griffin took a position as the sole emergency department physician at Shands Hospital, Starke. Thereafter, Dr. Griffin explored family-practice entrepreneurship by helping to grow an upper-Manhattan practice to 5,000 patients within two years.

The experience up north reinforced Dr. Griffin’s desire to build his own family practice closer to home and family. His unique South Tampa family practice has grown steadily since inception in 2008, and he looks forward to caring for Tampa Bay residents for the duration of his career.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Griffin holds hospital privileges at Tampa General Hospital, Memorial Hospital of Tampa and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Dr. Griffin is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Private Physicians a national organization dedicated to restoring the integrity of the physician-patient relationship.
